The Science of Carpet Cleaning

Carpet Cleaning in Coronado, CA

Believe it or not, there is a real science to quality carpet cleaning. It starts with chemistry. Coronado Carpet & Stone has earned its certification from the IICRC – Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration.

It is very important to understand what type of carpet fibers you are attempting to clean before you start. This determines which cleaning solution to use and how much.

We take pride in our training and customer service. CCS has no interest in entering your home to wet your carpet and up-sell you. Be careful, those companies are out there! We will give you an estimate in writing before we start.

Proven System

Our proven system consists of:

  1. Pre-vacuuming
The first step is removing all dry dirt, dust, pet hair, and debris from the carpet. Pre-vacuuming prevents loose soils from turning into mud during the wet cleaning process, and it allows the cleaning solutions to target deep-set dirt more effectively.
  2. Pre-Spray
A specialized cleaning solution is lightly sprayed onto the carpet. Pre-sprays are formulated to be safe yet powerful, helping to loosen dirt from carpet fibers.
  3. Agitation
The pre-spray is worked into the carpet fibers using our mechanical buffer. Agitation ensures that the solution evenly covers the carpet and penetrates deep, breaking apart stubborn spots and high-traffic soil.
  4. Post-vacuum
After agitation, another vacuuming pass is performed to pull out the loosened dirt, broken-up residues, and any excess cleaning product. This step restores the carpet’s texture and ensures a fresh, clean appearance.
  5. Deodorizer
A professional-grade deodorizer is applied as the finishing touch. This neutralizes odors (from pets, spills, or general use) and leaves the carpet smelling clean and refreshed.
